At QEP we are great fans of the Peugeot 205 Gti. The combination of excellent handling and a good power/weight ratio make them an excellent track day car, especially when you consider the price/performance ratio.
We stock a full complement of engine rebuild parts for both the 8v engines and the 16v Mi16 engines including Liners, Piston Rings, Bearings, Gaskets etc.
We also lighten flywheels for both engine types. A reduction in flywheel weight improves acceleration, power normally spent accelerating the extra the weight of the flywheel is freed up so it can be used to accelerate the car faster.
The only real downside is that clumsy use of the clutch will result in the car stalling easier.
Flywheels are supplied on an exchange basis and come lightened and balanced, chemically black to improve corrosion resistance and have the
clutch faces ground to ensure correct operation.
Billet aluminuim flywheels can be made to order.
We also supply shortened Mi16 Inlet manifolds which enable the engine to be fitted without moving the radiator.
For the 8v engine a very cost effective method of gaining power is fitting the cylinder head from the XU10 2.0 engines.
These heads have inlet and exhaust valves that are 1mm larger than the std XU9 cylinder heads together with better positioning of the spark plug.
Modifications are needed to the inlet ports so they match the XU9 inlet manifold. With modification to the valves, valve seats and throats
these head offer almost 15% more inlet flow than the std head.
We can either modify your XU10 head or supply a head outright, reconditioned, modified and fitted with a Catcam to suit your requirements.
